چکیده

The goal of this project is to develop a new capability for the chemical characterization of marine aerosols. This involves the development of an instrument to make quantitative, near real-time sodium concentration measurements on individual size-segregated marine aerosols. The development and deployment of a single particle sodium detector would allow us to measure the size distribution of sea salt aerosols in air in a variety of sea states and to verify laboratory-derived relationships for the formation of aerosols via sea spray bubble bursting mechanisms. This information will provide a basis for relating the abundance of sea salt aerosols to remotely observable parameters reflecting the physical state of the atmosphere and surface ocean. It will also provide insight into the influence of sea saltderived particles on the optical properties of the marine aerosol and a better understanding of how sea salt aerosols affect aerosol growth and nucleation in the marine boundary layer.

Detection of Coxiella burnetii by Real-Time PCR in Raw Milk and Traditional Cheese Distributed in Tehran Province

Coxiella burnetii is common causative agent of Q fever in humans and animals. Although the main route of human infection is through inhalation of contaminated aerosols (dust), but oral transmission through contaminated raw milk and dairy products are also possible routes of infection. The aim of this study was to identify and determine the extent of contamination and prevalence of Coxiella burn...

ارائه روشی سریع برای حذف اثر هوآویزها از تصاویر ماهواره‌ای MODIS

Due to the effect of aerosols present in the atmosphere on the satellite images, the study of the effect of local aerosols distribution on the satellite images is important. On the other hand, the study shows that the effect of aerosols on the greenhouse gases and consequently on climate is also undeniable and as a result, this puts more emphasize on the necessity of this study. Lack of informa...

Reactive uptake of nitric acid onto sodium chloride aerosols across a wide range of relative humidities.

Reactive uptake coefficients for nitric acid onto size-selected (d(ve) = 102 and 233 nm) sodium chloride aerosols are determined for relative humidities (RH) between 85% and 10%. Both pure sodium chloride and sodium chloride mixed with magnesium chloride (X(Mg/Na) = 0.114, typical of sea salt) are studied. The aerosol is equilibrated with a carrier gas stream at the desired RH and then mixed wi...

Major ionic species in size-segregated aerosols and associated gaseous pollutants at a coastal site on the Belgian North Sea.

The chemical composition of airborne particulate matter (PM) was studied at a coastal region near De Haan, Belgium, during a winter-spring and a summer campaign in 2006. The major ionic components of size-segregated PM, i.e. NH(4)(+), Na(+), K(+), Mg(2+), Ca(2+), Cl(-), NO(3)(-), and SO(4)(2-), and related gaseous pollutants (SO(2), NO(2), NH(3), HNO(2), and HNO(3)) were monitored on a daily ba...

Comparison of Water-Soluble Organic Components in Size-Segregated Particles between a Roadside and a Suburban Site in Saitama, Japan

To clarify the characteristics of the water-soluble organic components in atmospheric aerosols, size-separated aerosol samples were simultaneously collected at a roadside site (R) and a suburban background site (S) in Saitama, Japan, during spring and summer 2007 and winter 2008. Chemical compositions, including water-soluble organic carbon (WSOC), organic carbon, inorganic ionic components, an...
